Freedom

They leap, they lick, they burn and scald,

The water has it failed

To quench the rising fire,

Now an era fresh is hailed:

List the orange glow,

It speaks with lapping tongues,

It’s had enough the order old,

A new one has begun,

The time of inquisition,

All heretics the stake,

But not the usual suspects

Nor division for its sake.

Now the triple-pillar,

Authority and Faith,

The Virtues Cardinal shall

Face the judgement of each wraith,

The creatures who do gorge

Upon the seven sins so merry,

That burp and belch then snore asleep

Their Epicurean ferry.

In future verse I shall detail

Their chaos room, such court

Where freedom’s banned from real life

And even private thought.
